Below is our policy for citing Player XP data in the public domain (including by customers, partners and media outlets). All use of such data must be in accordance with this policy and any applicable subscription to Player XP. This policy does not apply to any content or data provided by Player XP partners; all such data is subject to the respective partner’s policies.
Types of Player XP data that can be published:
You may publish Player XP data that has been put into the public domain by an authorized party, as outlined in this policy. These include data from Player XP tweets, the Player XP blog, Player XP press releases, articles in the media that cite Player XP data, and Player XP social media posts.
Player XP data not put into the public domain as explained above may not be published unless: (1) you have obtained explicit approval from Hertzian Corporate Communications (press@hertzian.co.uk). Guidance for publication of non-public data derived from Player XP is provided herein for reference only and should not be construed as explicit approval in the absence of the foregoing.
In general, you may publish rankings or ranking-related metrics, provided that the above conditions have been met.
Player XP blog posts, reports, data points, analytics, pricing, and slide decks are protected by copyright and may not be republished.
When publishing PLAYER XP data, you must clearly indicate the source as PLAYER XP Index (https://live.playerxp.io/) or (https://playerxp.io) You must include the appropriate Hertzian or Player XP URL. If you are citing Hertzian or Player XP social media posts, please provide a link or abbreviated link to that source. If you cite Player XP data together with other data, including your own, you must indicate clearly which data points came from which source.
When citing Player XP rankings, you must clearly indicate the FULL CONTEXT, including the following, as appropriate: site, geography, time period (including year), category, app, and category (e.g., category, sentiment).
If rankings are based on a custom category rather than a standard category already defined by the report or dashboard, then you must footnote that category definition clearly. Furthermore, the custom list of categories must be made available to the public, whether in the report appendix or other public location clearly referenced in the report. For example, if you are creating custom analytics based on game data, then the source for the custom rankings should not be Player XP but: "Source: Rankings calculated by [your company name] based on Player XP from X [e.g., PlayerXP]."
If you are publishing screenshots of Player XP tables, charts, or other content that are in the public domain, then the Player XP logo must be clearly visible in the screenshots.
When quoting Player XP content or analyses that are available in the public domain, quotes should be used in full context and preserve the original intended meaning. The source should be the specific Player XP blog post, report, or press release along with the appropriate URL. For Player XP commentary that has not already been put in the public domain, you may quote only official company spokespersons with their approval. Such officials include: members of the executive team, the Business Development leaders at the VP level or higher.
Any Player XP data or analysis about an app, publisher, game does not represent an endorsement by Player XP, nor should they be cited in such a way as to imply that. In addition to this policy, your use of any Player XP data, metrics or reports is governed by Player XP Terms of Service. (https://live.playerxp.io/legal/terms).
If you are citing metrics calculated on a custom basis, the source should be: "Source: [Your company name]’s custom calculations based on Player XP data."
